“I just write what I wanted to write. I write what amuses me. It’s totally for myself”
- J.K Rowling
No! I will not speak about a book written by Joanne Kathleen Rowling. In fact, I would speak about the lady herself. It took me a sale at the library to allow me to visit the life of the famous Harry Potter creator. Written by Marc Shapiro, the biography of Joanne titled “Princess of Magic” takes us on a journey of dreams. The book is a record of events which encourage us to live ones dreams despite the failures that one experiences in the process to achieve it.
The first half of the book takes us on a journalistic view of the life of Joanne Kathleen. Marc Shapiro, a journalist has carefully chosen interviews and anecdotes from the life of Joanne. The story of Joanne Kathleen speaks of the urge in her to write Harry Potter and how she has been living magic that she went through while writing, be it short stories or stories, through the years.
The later part of the book speaks of the mother whose wish is to raise her daughter not in poverty and struggles like hers was but in comfort and the necessary pleasures every daughter deserves. Harry Potter is not a mere book which spins magic. It is a book on which Joanne Kathleen Rowling’s life depended and how it has changed.
